What Is The Sgp Prize?
The Singapore Global Prize (SGGP Prize) is an international award presented to those whose work is considered most beneficial to society. Created by Kishore Mahbubani to commemorate SG50, and acknowledge Singapore’s contributions that have benefitted humanity over its 50-year existence, it recognizes and honours their efforts based on Kishore Mahbubani’s theory that nations are imagined communities; historical narrative acts as the central element that holds societies together and must remain alive through imagination and memory.
The winner will receive a gold medallion, trophy and cash prizes worth $500,000 and $100,000 respectively, in addition to being honored at a gala dinner in October 2022. A nominating committee has been set up in order to select nominees; with five experts from academia, arts, civil service and Kishore Mahbubani of NUS Asia Research Institute serving on a jury that selects their ultimate winner.
Even though sgp Prize has only been presented once, it has quickly found favour within both local and global communities. Widely considered one of the most prestigious awards in Asia, with applications coming from all corners. Many experts have also applauded it as being an important way to recognize Singapore’s contributions to both society and individual lives.
Another major advantage of the Sustainable Green Growth Prize (SGGP Prize) is its wide appeal; anyone from youths to students can access it. This makes the SGP Prize an inspiring and unique opportunity for anyone passionate about sustainability who wishes to help save our environment; something especially crucial given the world climate crisis which has resulted in deforestation and overfishing issues.
In order to combat these problems, the Sustainable Global Prize was designed as an incentive for those working towards sustainable development by awarding financial grants and highlighting best practices within this area of study. Furthermore, numerous organizations and foundations have contributed funds towards its support.
Lastly, the Sustainable Global Progress Prize provides an innovative platform that encourages public members to exchange their thoughts about sustainable development with others – it has since evolved into a worldwide network of individuals and organizations committed to creating a brighter future for everyone on our planet.
Furthermore, the SGP Prize provides scientists with invaluable data about global biodiversity for monitoring and modeling species’ movements – crucial in protecting endangered animals and plants. Furthermore, its extensive network of partners are all committed to finding scalable solutions for people and the planet; making a greater global impact more likely. It has the support of major donors including Equator Initiative and UNDP which is key for its continued existence.
